AES Scholarship at UTD

I am wondering about the AES Scholarship at UTD. I have been looking at it for months because I want to go to this school for free. I know that there are high requirements for this scholarship such as good academics, high SAT, etc.I sent my SAT scores of 1140 and I was rank 5 at the time I sent my material to them. I retook the SAT and obtained a score of 1240 and I am rank 2 in my class and I have been involved in many activities but I have not sent them my updated achievements. It is the end of March and I do not know If I should send them this new information. I know that UTD also gives waivers to the AES scholarship if you are rank 1. I am neck to neck with the first person in the class. Should I resend my scores and rank to UTD or should I put all my energy into becoming rank 1? Some advice would be great.

Also, I have a weighted GPA of a 4.40, would that help too?

The AES Scholarship is rather easy to get for UTD. I was able to receive the largest amount possible (they were provided through tiers when I applied), along with the Terry Scholarship, which in total provided a full-ride (and some sort of stipend). Definitely focus on improving SAT scores to 1500+. As for your rank, if you are in the top 2 or 3% you will be fine. Also, focus on differentiating yourself in extracurriculars, esp in terms of being the absolute best at something in your high school.
