From what I understand, USAFA will only ask you to take the CFA again if you for the most part look good on paper, but might look a little questionable physically. So it's a good sign that they let you retake it. Hopefully you'll be hearing shortly

Yeah, according to my ALO, it definitely is a good sign if they ask you to retake the CFA.

Also according to him, if you are offered an appointment the academy will let the nominating source know, give them a week to notify to you, and then send out the letter. A week later they will update your status online. So, depending on how far away you live (I live in PA, and it can take close to 2 weeks for mail to reach me from CO) you may see the update online before you receive the appointment package. Of course, you could also find out from your nom. source first.

I was asked to retake my CFA. Did so first week in February. Appointment package just arrived today. It was dated February 23, so 3 days to get from Colorado to Ohio.

Nice! Weird though, that it only took 3 days. Mine are usually dated at least a week before I get it.

Hmm, i'm not sure how long it takes for Academy mail to reach my house. I live in Georgia so it's quite a ways i suppose. If it took a week then quite possibly ( although i doubt it) i could have an Academy envelope travelling to me right now. Nevertheless i think i'll just expect it around the end of March. My doctor who is an Academy grad think i'll get in, which gives me some hope. He'll be there for his 20 year reunion this next fall, so if i got accepted he says he'd see me there, haha.
