AFA SS vs NA SS

So I was wondering which one is harder to get into. The AFA summer seminar or the Naval Academy Summer Seminar. I know someone who got accepted to the NA SS and he was way below the standards required for it.

They want a geographical representation. Could be that they had to fill slots from that particular area.

They are both VERY competitive. Son got accepted to both, but could only go to NASS since there was a conflict AFA and Boy's State

If possible, I would go to both of them, just so that you can see both campuses and then can make a more informed decision on which Academy to go to in case you are offered more than one appointment. Lots of my SS friends went to more than one (some went to all 3, which I thought was a little extreme).

Yep, Redhead is right on, as usual. Definitely try to go to both, if you can, to get a feel for each and figure out which you really like. Lots of people at AFA SS, most, I would say, went to USNA SS as well.

As far as which is harder to get into, I would think that they'd be pretty comparable. Like nurseypoo said, it may just depend on where you're from.

The USNA summer seminar has three sessions and enrolls about twice as many as USAFA does with their two sessions.
