AFA Summer Seminar

Is there a date that all apllicants will know if they made it or not by? I had my interview about 3 weeks ago and I’m just wondering if my ALO will notify me or will it come by mail. I guess I’m just curious, air force is the only academy that hasn’t replied yet.

Thanks

I received my acceptance email about 6 days after my AOL interview. It came from the admissions office at the academy not my ALO. Upon receiving the email it says that an actual packet will be sent out via snail mail in April to complete the registration for the seminar. So I imagine if you haven't received anything by the end of april then perhaps you should contact them to atleast find out if you were denied acceptance.

Whats your status with the other academies? I'm attending USMA Session B and USAFA Session II

Im attending Navy Session 2 and CGA 3 so far.

My son met with his ALO on 1/28. He received an email notifying him that he was accepted into Session B on 2/10. As tn48th said, his email came directly from the Academy, not from the ALO.

The USAFA website says that regular selections will be made approximately 10 days after the application window closes on March 15, so I would expect that you should be hearing something from them soon.

hhsxc---
My son (middle son---oldest is already at USAFA!) applied right before the deadline---March 13th. He only did the online stuff and had no ALO interview, though. Got an email yesterday saying that he was accepted, and that the paperwork will arrive in April. I wouldn't stress about it if you don't get in, though. My oldest was rejected for the Air Force SS (although he got into Navy's!)---and as I said above, he is currently a cadet in the class of '09.

Hey- yeah I just got a letter for AFA saying that I was competitive for an actual slot to the academy, but "unfortinalty" not to summer seminar. Ah, it sucks but no excuses and I'll keep plugging along with more leadership, grades etc. Anyone else know of people who didn't get into SLS, but got into the actual academy? I'm sure I'm not the only one who will be dissapointed-

A cadet at our appointee orientation didn't get into the summer seminar.

NJNetsFan34,

I believe that momof3boyz's son was in a similiar situation. He didn't get into Summer Session, but did get accepted into AFA.

The packet for those who had been selected came today. Deadline to get everything back April 15th!!

Hey if you did get in the registration packet should be in any day, I got mine yesterday but also my ALO told me that the summer seminar is technically harder to get into than the academy. So read what you will out of that.

I think that the odds are less in our favor to get into summer seminar, but there are exceptions.
For example, I have a friend who went to SS, but did not recieve an academy nomination
