Seems like a Good definition to me,.

you do realize the 3/5ths clause had nothing to do with extending the institution of slavery don't you?

it was for population representation so they could get more seats in the house you idiot

You asked for the republican POV

if anything, it limited the import of slaves....they made it illegal to import slaves after 1780...you really really REALLY need to read the Constitution before you try to explain it

if they didnt let the slaves vote. Douglas would win for the North. if they did let them vote. Adams would win for the south. Its that simple.

that's not the republican point of view...that's the christian fundamentalist point of view

OMG......LOL....you're such an idiot...i can't take this i'm about to fall to the ground laughing

John Adams was from Massachusets....Stephen Douglas debated agaisnt Abraham Lincoln...i'm pretty sure Adams was dead by then...slaves never had the right to vote....WOW

really ur pretty dumb them

This was the election of 1800. Where president John adams was running for his second term. His main contender Thomas Jefferson won with 73 electorial votes compared to Adams 65.

The jefferson won again in 1804

and we ahve had slavery on this land of blacks before we were even called America.

and by 1860 there were 4 million slavers here. The Middle passage wasent that fast pal.

see now you have actually been outdone. You cant go againt true facts.

You are 60 years ahead of yourself.

slaves never voted you idiot...slaves never voted you idiot...slaves never voted you idiot....john adams died before stephen douglas was born....Jefferson was from the south...Adams was from the north.....Douglas was from the south....you're on crack....go back to kindergarten

and need i remind you that nothing you said in that post was relevent to ANYTHING

Ummm....trading slaves was made illegal in 1780 as a comprimise to northern delegates of the constitutional convention. Most slaves after that time (those that weren't smuggled) were part of the domestic slave trade...which of course would be supported by people like Bill Frist and Tom Delay...and vincent.

don't his posts just make you laugh kb??

No, we had slavery on this continet of black for 300 some odd years. beofre we were a country.

and Adams was a Federalist and Douglas a Republican/democrat

you should laugh at yourself
