AA based on Economic Background: Good for college...based on a number of factors though...i.e. whether the prospective student worked part-time, number of siblings and ages of each (whether he/she spent time taking care of the family or not)...sorry to be blunt...and i dont' mean to be rude...but if you're poor, and you sit on your ass all day and expect to get some leniancy....that's just pitiful....but if you're actually doing something and using your time to help yourself/family, you do deserve some kind of advantage in the admissions process.</p>

<p>would you organize the results such that we could see things like how many responses of each race were for or against AA. I guess SAT score and parents' education might also be interesting, but I think the most interesting would be by race.</p>

<p>I would consider myself a libertarian on social issues, and a democrat on economic issues. </p>

<p>i am AGAINST AA, FOR gay marriage, FOR ending the drug war, FOR private business's right to hire whoever they want based on anything including race or gender. I am against just about every wrongful termination lawsuit. i'm for the right of private colleges to admit students based on race, hell, they can admit students based on who looks the hottest, but if i was running a private college, i would not want it to be racist in its admissions. </p>

<p>AA based on race is good. It helps correct present inequities in
our educational system. Blacks and Hispanics do better academically once they are in stable learning environment.</p>
