Would any college student who has had cosmetic surgery mind saying how they afforded it? I can only think of getting a part-time job near campus and using left over financial aid money to afford it. Are there other ways that college students are able to gain enough money from it without using parent’s money?
Ever since I made a brief joking comment about getting cosmetic surgery, my parents have been reluctant to giving me large sums of money as birthday gifts or Christmas gifts. They even got mad at me once for not using up the money that I saved up in my bank account.
How is it u have financial aid money in excess of your college expenses-- especially since your parents are able to give u “large sums of money as birthday gifts or Christmas gifts”.
Well, they get the large amount of the money that they give me as gifts usually from their own gifts since they have a lot of friends who like them. So they get it from their own Christmas, father/mother’s day, and birthday gifts since they don’t seem to care so much about material things to buy for themselves. The word large can be subjective just like the word small as proven by when Donald Trump stated, “my father gave me a small loan of a million dollars.”
The only options i’m familiar with are
a) Parents
b) Job and save money
c) Sugar daddy/mama
If you have left-over financial aid, you probably haven’t taken out your Stafford loans so… do that. Seems like a terrible idea, though.
Edited to add: I see from your other threads you’re not even in college yet. You might be surprised at how little “left over financial aid” you have. At least make sure your necessities are covered before you go for cosmetic surgery.
Is this cosmetic surgery elective? Something you don’t need? Then it is a luxury. Get a job and save if you really feel like you need cosmetic surgery now.
So which school in Los Angeles do you go to that gives you excess financial aid?
I almost forgot about sugary daddies and sugar mamas. For guys who are wanting cosmetic surgery, I would recommend also considering homosexual sugar daddies. From my experience, it is easier to find homosexual sugar daddies than it is to find straight sugar mamas. It’ll be a bit awkward but worth it in the end.
Would it be possible to get a part-time job while studying to be able to afford it? How many years would it take? Minimum wage here is $8/hr and I’m thinking of applying for a job now before I start college to jump start the money saving. What I want will cost about $5,000-7,000 in my state but I can get it for $1100 in China(not counting plane) and I wouldn’t have to pay for a hotel since I have many friends who live there.
I’m not even in university yet but I was just listing ways that people can possibly be able to afford it. Maybe this thread can help others who are also wondering about how to afford it.
Has anyone had any experience with CareCredit? It’s a healthcare credit card company that helps you pay off for procedures including cosmetic surgery. They only charge interest if you don’t make your payments on time. They have many plans ranging from 18 months with $278/month or 14.90% APR for 60 months that’ll only cost $119/month for procedures of $5000. I just don’t know if a part-time college student looking for cosmetic surgery would be approved for it.
I had to take out a CareCredit loan for a vet procedure for my pup.
I would never recommend someone go into debt for an elective procedure like this.
I can’t think of any cosmetic surgery that is elective and out of pocket that can’t wait until after college is finished and you actually have an income to pay for it. This is an unnecessary expense, not to mention surgery risk.
Then that explains a lot.
Just like there’s no Easter Bunny or unicorns, there’s no such thing as “leftover financial aid money”.

Going to China for surgery is a bad idea. China is not as well regulated and you really don’t know what your paying for. I would really reconsider surgery. $5-7k is a lot of money. Why do you want the surgery?
If you are applying for college FA, then your summer-time and school-year job earnings will be earmarked by the college to pay for college. They’re not going to just let you accumulate thousands of dollars per year for your discretionary spending, if they’re having to open up their own wallet to give u limited funds from their FA budget.
The countries in asia to go for experienced cosmetic surgery are Thailand & SKorea, not China. You couldn’t pay me enough to have surgery of ANY kind in China.
Reading between the lines of your posts, it seems like the professional help you need is not the cosmetic surgery type.
Okay, it should be last resort then
It really is if you know where to find them. My morals were too high for that though since I wasn’t even 18.
I’m going to be entering university and I’ve read a lot that it becomes much more difficult to find someone who will be your future wife if you couldn’t find one in college. I’m going to be spending the rest of my life with that person so I would like to give myself lots of options to find the right one by getting it done instead of just automatically being shut out by not getting it done. People say that your children would still come out ugly but your children would actually come out better looking than if you hadn’t gotten the surgery since your new wife’s looks would help the child instead of keeping the child’s looks the same like the wife you would’ve gotten if you hadn’t gotten the surgery.
Wow. Assuming you aren’t… living under a bridge… I’m speechless.
Do you plan to disclose to your wife candidates that this new you isn’t the real you, and that their offspring w you will look more like the old you?
FYI

Chinese man sues his wife for being ugly, and the court AGREES… awarding him £75,000
Sorry to laugh, but this thread is just too funny, and a little sad.
I know that article from seeing it years ago but it takes place in China. The older generation is much more traditional and won’t date someone unless they have plans of marrying and having children with that person so it is understandable that the man won the case in China when their judges are all traditional elderly Chinese men. I am not getting my whole face redone like that lady. My mother has a small nose and my father has a large nose so I will make sure she understands the luck(and bad luck) that is involved in genetics.
As the thread is going into another direction, I will summarize the ways to afford cosmetic surgery that might help others who are reading this thread and thinking of how to afford it in order of most recommended.
- Parents
- Job
- SD/SM
- leftover FA (if any)
- CareCredit
- Going to Thailand & South Korea to get the operation
You do realize that the AVERAGE age of (first) marriage in the US for college graduates is 26 for women and 27 for men.
I only know a tiny handful of people who married their college sweethearts. Most people I know met their spouse years after college, when they were already in the workforce,
FYI, the far right column is the data for college graduates
