The longer one waits to look better, the less time one will have to reap the benefits of being good lucking in society. So by the time one waits to be 26, one may have already gotten some wrinkles and grey hairs thus lessening the amount of benefits one would reap. Of course if I find a gorgeous woman who wants to marry me in college before I get the procedure, then I will consider not getting it.
Maybe you should open your eyes and see that beauty is not just skin deep.
I’m pretty sure that there has never been any research done saying that babies looks better from someone who has had cosmetic/plastic surgery… That would make no sense as you’re genetics don’t code for what you look like when you have the surgery. It’s like someone not having an arm because they lost it to an accident… Their child would (probably) have two arms, and if they didn’t it wouldn’t be because their father/mother lost an arm.
@MPC6789 OP was saying his children would look better because he would have a “better-looking” wife as a result of him having plastic surgery, thus producing “better-looking” children. Not that his surgery would produce “better-looking” children as a result.
What Elliebham said
Person A is high in attractiveness
Person B is a bit low in attractiveness
Person C is the man who has undergone the procedure
Person C is able to have children with Person A because the procedure allowed them to be on similar levels of attractiveness.
Person C is also able to have children with Person B although he will be unlikely to do so due to conflicting levels of attractiveness (reality)
Child AC will have attractiveness levels in between Person A’s and Person C’s original genes.
Child BC will have attractiveness levels in between Person B’s and Person C’s original genes.
Because Person A had higher levels of attractiveness than Person B, Child AC will be better looking and reap the benefits of being good looking in society.
@elliebham oh, I misunderstood, thank you for clarifying.
That being said, I don’t mean to sound rude, but OP seems to be way too focused on looks. I think OP should re-evaluate priorities, would it be worth spending the thousands of dollars for an elective surgery when it could be used towards something else?
Like an Introduction to Logic course? Yeah, I thought that too.
@OP
You come off like one of those obsessively self-absorbed people who thinks their entire life will magically fall into place if only they had ____.
5-6k is not going to change your looks that drastically. Besides, looks are only going to get you a first date (with a 5k investment the probability of getting the date does not increase that much anyway). Getting a girl to marry you requires non-physical things. Don’t worry so much about getting a gorgeous wife. Investing the money into an apartment/tuition/food is a much better idea.
This thread is awesome.
Who wants some popcorn? Makin’ a big ole batch over here! It’s delicious
Study abroad in South Korea and get it done there. The best technology and the best prices
I will just add an intellectual piece to this thread to help others gain a step closer to reality. I hope this doesn’t come off as harsh, I’m just trying to save some people.
Let’s not downplay the importance of beauty in the world we live in. Getting a foot in the door is vastly superior to not having any door open in the first place.
Let us begin on CC where we can see how beauty affects the forums and the posters. College Confidential is a site that discuss many topics but has a major focus on college academics and admissions. However, what does one see on the front page? A model. That is what one sees on the front page. A woman with superior looks who is paid to dress elegantly to entice visitors to explore the site. We do not see a university admissions office or a group of students diligently working on their homework but instead an attractive ornately dressed woman because sex sells.
Now onto the real world. Would One Direction garner such popularity if they had started off as what they are now? They had to start off as adorable innocent guys with attractive haircuts and no tattoos. They had to get their foot in the door. How are they looking currently? Harry Styles has shaggy hair to his shoulders and all members, disregarding Niall, have multiple tattoos. What they needed was to first garner enough popularity from teenage girls. Once they did, they were able to go back to their true selves because of the cushion that they got from their initial appearance. There are many more examples of this in the media such as Alex From Target, Kim Kardashian, the whole K-Pop industry, etc.
Many successful and wealthy men who were not gifted with beauty find other ways to obtain beauty. They shift their focus towards their children. They are able to afford gorgeous wives who will bare better looking children thus giving the man’s child an easier life. Donald Trump, the gorgeous Melania Trump, and their beautiful son, Barron Trump, are just one example out of the many that prove this point.
Even for the average person, looks matter plenty. For people looking into going into business, much of the excellent jobs that they aim for require connections. Getting a foot in the door is a major deal for them. For people who aren’t looking into entering the business world, looks still play a crucial role in finding a job. So much can happen on that one interview between an employer and an applicant. Employers not only want someone who can do the job but can also represent the company well. Just like CC wants a beautiful girl representing the forums, so do many companies.
These are just off the top of my head because I’m not interested in getting this intellectual piece scored by others but instead interested in giving others a small glimpse of my viewpoint.
Seriously, you remind me of this guy. He was also totally obsessed about attracting beautiful women, and he ended up very badly.

You are being delusional if you think a 5-6k surgery procedure is going to put your life on an entirely different trajectory.
My thread was to look for ways to afford cosmetic surgery and I shared my viewpoint that I know is not popular. I expected people to at least understand a differing viewpoint and maybe share some of theirs if they wanted to. You have so far told me that I need professional help, that I am self-absorbed, that I am delusional, and you have just compared me to a mass murderer terrorist.
Notice that if the only reason a person is not interested in you is the fact that your nose is 2cms bigger than hers, you really need to rethink your interest in that person.
It is not that your opinions are unpopular, it is that they are factually incorrect.
Read this article, preferably along with some studies by David buss. https://evolution-institute.org/article/on-common-criticisms-of-evolutionary-psychology/
What we are trying to say is that -while I am not a woman, and my insight is based on theory- women do not seem to place as much stock into what you think they do. Cosmetic surgery would not really improve anything by itself. On the other hand, if your appearance is lowering your confidence, or If you are obsessed with it to the point of it interfering with your daily life, you can go ahead and do the surgery. Just know that your thought process is wrong, and you would not be as happy as you think you will be after the surgery.
Am I the only person who finds the verb afford insulting?
On the issue of models, the mechanic behind models being used for sales is fundamentally different from what you are pursuing.
I think several posters listed possible ways that a college student MIGHT be able to afford cosmetic surgery. Your motivation for it is apt to fail, and the celebrity examples you provide in defense of your position may be rich, famous, and by some people’standards attractive, but if half of what is told about them in the media is true their lives are a mess.
@romanigypsyeyes, yes please, I’ll have some popcorn.
@GMTplus7 had the exact same thought
For your sake, I hope this is a t r o l l thread
Ridiculous.
Get into college first. Hone the thinking skills to make yourself able to manage college, get on track to find and keep work and build a stable life. Then worry about getting prettier.
It’s much tougher to find a great spouse when you can’t deal with the first challenges life brings.
And many successful and wealthy men who were not gifted with beauty seek wives who are not just arm candy.
Melinda Gates and Priscilla Chan (Zuckerburg) are not exactly Sports Illustrated swimsuit models, but are certainly women of substance.
