Hi everyone,
So I am a big fan of Syracuse University. It pretty much has everything I desire in a university; it’s beautiful, lots of school spirit, great sports teams, but overall, great academics. When I was doing my research of universities back when I was in community college, I learned that SU’s Whitman School of Management is actually pretty great. I was THRILLED when I was accepted for the fall 2014 semester. However, reality struck: There was no way I could afford to go.
Seriously, it was such an awful feeling to have been accepted into my first choice and then have to give it up because of money. Heck, I even chose my last choice – UAlbany – simply because of money. UAlbany has been an amazing experience and I have no loans, so it’s been fantastic. As great as UAlbany is, I still have the desire to go elsewhere for grad school… SU.
Money is still a major concern for me, though. I will be able to save up quite a bit before enrolling and I will most likely be offered loans as part of my FA package, but it won’t be enough because I would have to find an apartment which I would pay for entirely on my own.
Ugh, should I just give up the dream? Give it to me straight everyone… Is SU just not an option for me? In all honesty, I would be fine with going to UAlbany for grad school as their accounting program is really good. It’s just that I STILL can’t shake this desire to go to SU, even 2 years after turning down my admission.
