Afraid to Check College Grades

Ok, so I know that my grades this semester won't be bad.

But I'm scared to check just in case I end up seeing all B's. (please don't convince me that b's are good)

How did you muster the courage to check your college grades? Feel free to share words of encouragement.

it was pretty much all this slight hope that my C would end up as a B, and my B would end up as an A.
and they did!

I'm the same way. You just have to do it!

My courage came from the fact that my mom would not stop bugging me about my grades, so I did it to shut her up. That and I knew my grades were good. Good luck!

Don't worry about it, you have no control over it at this point.

It's like ripping off a band-aid. Just get it over with and you can see if you want/need to put a new band-aid on!

You'll always be surprised by something on your transcript, it's part of life.

Really??? I knew exactly what was coming.

your grades are what they are. waiting isn't gonna change them. if you KNOW you did bad, just wait till after the holidays to check.

I'd much rather just check and get it over with. not knowing seems to make it so much worse.

same here. I just knew what they were...

You'll have to check some time, so why not check now and get more time to get over the potential shock or find out that you didn't do so badly and spare yourself the unnecessary agony?

Plenty of times, things turn out better than what you imagine.

I find it easier to check before holidays, big occasions, etc.

This way I don't worry about it.

This semester, for example, after having a 3.3 in HS, I got a 2.5 for my starting semester. Not too good, I know, but thankfully, I didn't have to retake classes (Math was my biggest worry, b/c I was borderline D/C, and I did just enough on my final to secure the C).

Comp Sci majors have it rough here....hehehe.

Check it, and if the grades are good, then good for you.

Check it, and if the grades aren't so good (all B's), then move on. Nothing you can do.... or maybe you could do email the professor and DEMAND and COMPLAIN that the grade be changed.

as my mom used to tell me, theres no way you can avoid the situation, so just suck it up and accept what you get

Well, if you're the paranoid type you can wait until after Christmas so the grades don't ruin your holiday.

Or, you could be the type like me who just wants to see how many A's he got.

B's are great. Unless you're pre-med or something like that and need to get into a top grad school. In which case, yeah, that's not going to be too easy.

LOL @ worrying about getting B's. Seriously, no one gives a crap.

That said, there are a few times I would've been ****ed to get a B. Bah, you get over it though. Whatever.

Seriously, just don't get put on academic probation or something and it's all good.

ok, so I finally mustered the courage to check and it's as bad as I expected

I got two B's, one B+, and an A-

This is a nightmare

Why is this a nightmare?

That's great!!! I'd kill to have your report :)

what's so bad about Bs?

Oh wait, are you one of those people who've never gotten below an A in their lives? I know you said that you don't want people telling you a B is good, but sorry, you're at least 18 years old. It's time to GET. OVER. IT. Really. You can't control or perfectionize everything. A B IS JUST FINE. Repeat it enough times and you might just start to believe it :-D
