Afraid to send out Mid-Year Report

Hi, i always been a pretty good student. I only got 1 B before senior year and that was in English. Anyway, I did ok in the first half of my fall semester, however, during the second half , I got H1N1, missed 3 weeks of school, and never managed to catch up. I ended up with 4 Bs out of total 6 classes i have, although all of them are AP classes. Do stanford care much about the senior year fall semester grades? Should i even bother working hard in my 2nd semester since no college will ever consider them for admission purposes anyway?

They most certainly do care about your senior year grades, although how much so, another will have to tell you. Did you write about your sickness in your application (like the additional information section), or can you send them a letter? My sister missed 6 weeks of her junior year because of mono. It was right at the end and she ended up with several Cs. She wasn’t applying to CC-level colleges, but a simple note to the schools of her choice cleared up the issue.

I am in the same boat… in fact I am going to make a thread about this 2

Senior grades do matter, but since they are only Bs and are in rigorous classes, you will be fine. If you want, sending them an explanation defeinitely couldn’t hurt.

Definitely send an explanation. Being out of school sick for 3 weeks is definitely a valid reason for getting some B’s.
