SCHOOLS APPLYING TO:
-Georgetown MSB EA

-Rennselaer Polytechnic Institute (Lally)
-NYU (stern)
please lemme know where i'm in and not...thanks

So Yeah..that's the profile :D

You should def. apply to all the ivies and other top schools. But if you have to have business then you will be fine at all of those schools.

i dont think he you will get into Georgetown...but everything else looks good

I think you should apply to Upenn their Wharton school. I think you'll be able to get in and that's an amazing feat.

Georgetown is a reach, your grades are weak compared to their applicant pool (way too many B's, and they don't count many of your easy A classes).

Had a friend who was a UAM and didn't get into Georgetown EA, but got into Penn ED. Will be attending Wisconsin, even though she is in-state for UMich and got in there (don't want to explain it).

That's a really weird list of schools, a lot of them are much different than each other.

being black really helps you in admissions... i saw it in my school this year. a girl with great grades, good SATs but not that many ECs at all, and nothing that stands out, is going to penn (doubt wharton, but not sure). i bet you're in at georgetown because you have a lot going on in ECs, and your grades really aren't bad. and they did go up. is there any reason for the freshman year? try to explain it on your app.

I'm not sure about the schools but this statement . . .

pretty high for AA

Though you didn't mean anything by it I'm sure, is a very dangerous statement to make. Being AA myself, with my score around 100 pts higher, people have said to me, "Pretty good for an African American".

Statistically, we do a lot worse on the SATs, a lot worse. That's a fact. But statements like 'pretty high for AA', though not intentionally, kind of instill a belief that we're intellectually inferior to our other ethnic counterparts by nature.

With that being said, I would like to commend your writing score, it's pretty badass.

And your SAT is pretty good for anyone.

edited......

The SAT's are estimates, Murasaki

Go for it and apply. Woo! I have not much else to add.

Well if you're a "rich kid" urm, you'll get less of a boost. Top colleges are mostly looking to give the advantage to blacks who disadvantaged backgrounds. However, seeing that you'll need little aid because your business makes so much, non need blind schools may well be very interested!
