African American Class of 2015

@Clarg17‌ I don’t get my AP scores until tomorrow. But I’ll let u guys know my scores as soon as I get them :)

@Madaboutx‌ unfortunately my school doesn’t offer honors calc, only AP calc is provided. So I think I’ll decide to take AP physics and honors statistics.

As difficult and non-related to your future plans, I don’t believe you will ever lose out by taking an extra math or physics course.

Hey guys ! I found a way to check my AP scores early and here they are
English language: 4
Psychology: 4
Macroeconomics: 2
Government and politics: 2

On regards of my macro and gov scores this is due to it only being a half semester class at my school where the teacher would just play videos and have the students play online “educational” games.

I got a 2 on my aphg exam.

Don’t worry on aphg I got a 2 as well haha and most colleges don’t accept aphg anyway @dartmouth15‌

lol got a 2 on my AP chem!!! Happy with that.

I deserve my 2 because I did not study that much. But It’s going to be different for AP euro. I’m going to get a 4 or 5.

@dartmouthgirl15‌ I’m taking AP euro as well! Do you have a summer assignment for the class?

@hbcuconfess on twitter is the most entertaining but ratchet thing…hope y’all are witnessing this mess

Eh it’s the same as the universal college twitter so I’m not surprised haha. College is wild

My family went to a restaurant for my mom’s birthday today and we ordered steak and the steak was unseasoned!!! Then we realized the cooks were white so we were like “oh that’s why”. It was the most hilarious thing :))

@dreamwriter23‌ For my summer assignment we got our textbooks And a thick packet. I have to define 15 definitions, read the first chapter out of the book,(which is like 20 pages), answer 30 questions in that chapter, then write a FRQ. And the funny part is I haven’t started it. And school starts august 13. I still have 500 pages of my pre ap English book to read and answer 4 questions on that and do some advance Spanish summer work also.

@dartmouthgirl15‌ yikes ! All I have to do is read “a word lit by fire” and the first day of school I’ll have a test on the book. For AP lit I just have to read 3 books and keep a journal about each of them. I sincerely wish you the best of luck because that seems like a lot of work.

Same with dreamwriter

@jellybae
@4CookieMonster‌

You seem like really good students. Jellybae is interested in pre-med… I highly recommend Xavier University. It graduates the most AA on a yearly basis who subsequently become doctors. More than Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Stanford, Dartmouth. So consider the school that has the best output for your needs.

http://www.xula.edu/premed/a.HSInfo/hsPMSuccess.htm</a> and http://www.ohsu.edu/xd/education/schools/school-of-medicine/departments/clinical-departments/radiation-medicine/about/upload/Xavier-University-Leads-the-Nation-with-the-Most-African-Americans.pdf</a> and http://theperfectmed.com/programs.html</a>.</p>

Another great feeder school for medical school is Emory. The students get to apply to work on projects at the Center for Disease Control (also in Atlanta). Fisk has a linkage with Meharry.

For those of you interested in top schools, you really should consider non-Ivy, national liberal arts colleges. They are great feeders and many have no loan (or capped loan amount) policies. Wesleyan University is test optional and has a no/reduced loan policy. Amherst College has a no loan policy. Swarthmore is top school on the outskirts of Philadelphia and provides great financial packages. Bryn Mawr is a female Ivy and has agreements with multiple medical schools to serve as a feeder. http://www.brynmawr.edu/postbac/linkages.shtml</a></p>

Great schools you all might want to consider are Amherst, Boston University, Bowdoin and Colby (if you are okay living in Maine), Davidson College, Haverford College, Pomona, Vanderbilt, Washington and Lee, and Scripps (Cali).

Maybe your parents are wealthy and money is no issue. But if money is an issue, and you would like to get the opportunity to see the schools in person, you surely want to consider applying for those college fly-ins. Here’s a link you may want to try: <a href=“Articles | Cappex”>Articles | Cappex;

For those of you considering STEM careers, you may be able to register as Venture Scholars. That program has agreements with some colleges to waive the application fees. www.venturescholar.org.

Good luck and stay on task.

@Tampa2015 ^…The fact that you just mentioned 4 schools out of my college list including my first choice… :))

Thank you Tampa! I will definitely look into these… Just to be clear, the only reason I’m considering ivies is because id get a great education and it’d all be for free. Plus the only out of state schools my parents will consider are well known ones sadly.

Hi all,
Haven’t been on here in a while. @dreamwriter23 @dartmouthgirl15 Im taking AP euro too but i just have to take notes on a book for my summer assignment. Anyone else taking AP Bio and AP Calc?

Me!!! Which Calc are you taking @Clarg17‌
