Am I being realistic? Please give me chances and recommend more schools that you think I might have a better chance at.

Also, should I retake my SATs? I just registered here and I've been looking around and mine seem really low compared to what people on here have :(

looks good to me. you have a chance

looking at your stats alone, they look pretty good to me. Also seeing that you're a URM, that probably increases your chance at HYP. What is it you plan on majoring in because colleges really like seeing you do things that relate to what you are interested in and show what your passion is. Also if you have won any awards, they like that too. Overall though, you have a pretty good shot I'd say in applying to HYP.

I think I want to major in English or something in the humanities.. Which is why if I get a low score on the SATII Literature it will be really embarrassing!!

I have won some school English awards and a regional poetry contest. Would that really help me since I want to do English?

definitely apply you'll probaby get in like half of them

Good scores, good grades, but somewhat unfocused EC's and a low rank. Your URM status will improve your chances substantially. You have a great shot at all your colleges. So yes, you are being very realistic. I don't think it's really neccesary to retake your SATs, unless you really feel you will score dramatically better.

Well I might be top 5%. I'm not sure! We don't get exact rankings. Our school is pretty competitive though, with over 20 people off to Ivy Leagues this year.

you'll definitely get into 1 out of HYP

don't freak, you're fine

Bump for more chances please..

Also do colleges really look down on a 3 on an AP? I got a 3 on US govt last year, when I had a terrible terrible teacher =(

Bump!!

Please give more chances.. Do kids like me really get into schools like HYPS?..

Well honestly... I think that you have a GREAT chance. You are a minority with a high gpa and solid SAT scores. You could retake your SATs if you wanted, but I think that you would be fine. Your ecs look good... you seem well rounded.

Do you have any academic or athletic awards/honors??

And I dont't think that they look down on AP Scores. I got a two on my AP Biology exam and I had a terrible teacher!!! Thats the only two that I had. The others were 3's and 4's.

I think everything looks really good. GPA and scores look great (lol I took the literature test last week too, that thing was hard!) Your ECs look good too. The fact that you are a minority will help as well but even if you weren't black, you'd still have a great shot. Good Luck and don't sweat it. You're an amazing student. :)

there are always no guarantees so I can't say for sure.. but you definitely have a VERY HIGH chance :)

and what is your weighted GPA?? if it is like 4.3/4.4+ Id say that berkeley is your safety..

and the fact that you are a URM will help your chances but if you want an edge for ivy leagues I would recommend a 2300+ on your SAT, although there is no absolute criteria for what score you need.

your ECs look great but they aren't that special.. and your academic is, again, great but nothing new so yeah.. don't be overconfident but understand that you have a GREAT shot, even if you weren't a URM :)

good luck!

I say very high chance. Go for it! But don't forget your safeties! :)
