I believe if I get in I think I will make a huge impact on minorities, such as myself to be interested in coming to UGA!

Do you think I have a chance of getting in?

If you can kick that GPA into the 3.5 range and score well on the ACT, then I believe you will have no problems getting into to UGA.

Do you live in Georgia, though?

Right now it's not looking so good. You have great ECs but your GPA will hurt you. It all depends on your standardized test scores now.

Yes I live in Georgia.

Anyone??? Answers???

Chia, I don't know much about UGA admissions, but I do know that next year they will be using race as a criterion for admissions. Since there is such a derth of black students applying to UGA in the first place, you will be a really attractive applicant. I almost applied to UGA and then I remembered how extremely undiverse the school is, which is a reason why many black students aren't applying there. Good luck, but I doubt you'll need it. You seem like a great candidate.

I think you have a decent chance but you need to raise your GPA. You're taking some tough classes, and they like that (take more if you can, the more AP/IB the better). . .but just make your grades a little better, if possible this semester.

Yeah. I did not know UGA was THAT picky on admissions. You'll do fine, bro.

People lie.

UGA is NOT that strict about admissions. I don't know where people are getting this information from.

95% of the people who apply from my school get into UGA every year. Each year, about 50% of those people are WELL below the UGA standards. For instance, I know around 7 people who got into Georgia with like, 3.0's & 1100s.

Don't let people scare you because the fact that you're in-state boosts you up a lot. The fact that you're a female kind of brings it down a little. But you're AA, so that helps too.

I'd say you're definitely in at all the other schools.

Thanks for the comments!!! Hope to have more coming!!
Any other suggestions???

anyone....

..........

Anyone?? I'm desperate...

hi, I am an African American male with a 4.4 GPA #5 in my class, with an SAT score of 1000, I currently work at Target, I am the Secretary of Beta Club, I am a memeber of Student Council, National Honor Society, International Key Club, I was an exchange student in Australia, I am also currently in NJROTC, and I am on the usher board at church, and I sing in the choir. What are my chances of being accepted into UGA?

I think you'll get in but try to pull up your SAT. 1100-1200 is a good goal.
