AFROTC rejection

As for my GPA, I think it’s approximately 3.65. It sounds low but our school has a notoriously tough grading system, a valedictorian will occasionally get a 3.85-3.9 GPA, but I think colleges will scale it in their own way.

Your stats very good, your math and verbal scored on the SATs are impressive. Plus, going to an “elite” school like that has its advantages, colleges know that those types of schools do a better job at preparing students for college than ordinary public schools.

Overall, I would say you have good credentials. I told the same story to my recruiter, and he told me that unfortunately this is tough pool this year. Of the 13,000 applicants, roughly 1200 will be offered scholarships. So I honestly have no idea if you or I will have a better chance on the second shot. What do you plan on majoring in? I know that the Air Force is especially low in electrical engineering and meteorology majors and likewise will have a much better chance at being offered scholarships.
