For the interview, the officer that interviewed me said that he was "tremendously impressed" and gave me a lot of other comments that indicated that i did very well. realistically, what are my chances of receiving an AFROTC Scholarship?

I agree that your chances are very good. Just remember that your AFROTC scholarship will probably be restricted to in-state public universities.

Also, your ACT is below average for Berkeley or UCLA. So, you should apply to several other California schools. I recommend UCSD, San Jose State, and San Diego State. You could also look at UC-Davis, but AFROTC events are an hour away at UC-Berkeley; so you would need a car. Actually you would need a car at UCSD too, because AFROTC is actually at SDSU.

There are ways to take your in-state AFROTC scholarship out of state. The first is to convert a 4-year Type 7 scholarship to a 3-year Type 2 scholarship. But this will not pay full tuition by itself. A couple of Catholic schools (you appear Baptist) will cover the rest of tuition, including freshman year. See University of Portland (sister school to Notre Dame) and University of St. Thomas in Minnesota (<a href=“Department of Aerospace Studies | College of Arts and Sciences | University of St. Thomas”>http://www.stthomas.edu/afrotc/scholarship/</a>). Two out of state universities will take your in state AFROTC as full payment; University of Minnesota, and University of Kentucky. UK will also pay full room and board (actually, so will U.St.Thomas and U.Portland, or will come close).
