Hey, I'm currently a freshman in college, approaching my second semester of school. I am a mechanical engineering major and have had an interest for the past few month about joining rotc. I think it would be awesome to work on planes and be an engineer in the air force. However, I am uncertain if this is really what I want to do. Anyone have any helpful advice of what I should do, in order to make the right decisison?

Think of your reasons for joining the program and decide if they're still be motivation 3 years after college.
Like, if you're joining simply to wear a uniform and feel B.A. then its probably not right for you.

But if you see it as a good career path or a good beginning step to a future civilian career, a good source of income and/or you really want to serve your country and/or better yourself as a leader and as a person, then I would at least check it out.

Oh and in case you didn't know their is no actual commitment until your junior year when you begin the P.O.C. portion of the AFROTC curriculum.

But yeah, if you need any other info just check out afrotc.com.
