How are you guys doing academically? I was an A/A- throughout HS, but I might end up getting couple of B's or maybe even a C (i hate calc) this semester. Do you think this will reject me later on ? (I am really worried)

Any wise word from students who went through this will help!

No. I don't think that NYU will go through the trouble to reject every accepted ED kid for a C or so. Just make sure you don't fail any and I'm sure you are fine.

Arrggg..I hate this. My motivation to keep my grades up was because of college admissions, but once I am in, the bubble popped. Now, I lost most of my motivation. What grades are you guys getting?

haaa you don't wanna know..my gpa senior year dropped from a 96 to about an 88ish..and its only gonna get worse next semester...but im already in so i guess its ok

Every year there are kids who ask this question and every year the answer is the same. Your acceptance is conditional on satisfactory completion of the coursework in progress at the time of your application and which are noted there. Successful completion means with the same kind of marks you had when you applied. If you were a straight A student and get a couple of Bs, no problem probably but if you go down to Cs or below, you may have reason to be concerned. Every year they rescind acceptances, both E.D. and R.D. once the final transcripts come in in June. You risk being rescinded or being on academic probation as you start freshman year, not a good thing. Don't be stupid and slack off now.

Matt, I thought they never asked for senior grades. That's werid. At the ivies, if you get accepted ed, a couple c's won't matter. they'll just send you a warning, but they won't rescind your acceptance. I doubt NYU will rescind acceptances either. Don't worry, but try to stay motivated people! And pray for us RD applicants!

A friend of mine got D's on his report card 2nd semester senior year and still made his way to Columbia. I don't think a C is going to be the death of you.

Here's my general theory on rescinding acceptances. Now I don't think this applies to all schools. but to some it does. I think the threat of rescinding your acceptance is more of a "hey, dont screw up, because if you get bad grades and don't graduate high school, you cant go to college and we can't take your money!"

just a theory I like to think is true as senioritis begins to set in...oh wait...I've had senioritis since 8th grade! ooops!
