After decisions, which school?

Hi, I'm finally DONE with school decisions, but now it's my turn:
Phillips Academy Andover: Refused
Groton School: Wait-listed
Hotchkiss: Accepted :D
Brooks School: Wait-listed
George School: Accepted

About me: International student / middle eastern:
lived in Lebanon and now in Tunisia...

I am hesitating between Hotchkiss and Groton... what I like about:
Hotchkiss: Big School, larger variety of programs, looks and sounds nice
Groton: IN MASSACHUSETTS (1hour away from Boston +++), better universities for later

Please help

why are you hesitating between hotchkiss and groton? you’re waitlisted at groton, accepted at hotchkiss… isn’t the choice obvious?

love the school that loves you.

Because someone like me, going to a boarding school that far away looks for more details and has a DIFFERENT point of vue…

FarisM, that made no sense. As of right now, you don’t have a choice between two boarding schools. Waitlisted is different from accepted.

I’m sorry but I don’t really know how to explain what I’m feeling…
And I am aware that waitlisted is different from accepted…

What I’m trying to say is that this is a really big deal for me,
I want to make sure I take the wright decision and do the wright thing…

I understand that but right now, your choices for Boarding School for next year seem to be limited to Hotchkiss. If you want to get off the waitlist of Groton, it’s doable but don’t bank on getting off it. If you feel that Hotchkiss isn’t the right fit then don’t go to Hotchkiss.

Hotchkiss Groton I don’t mind anything… But I don’t want to be like: If I was in , I would’ve *

Hotchkiss is a really great school! I wish I got in… i got waitlisted =(

Did you apply to any other schoools??

Am I correct that you currently have two choices–Hotchkiss and George School? Are you able to revisit either school? GS is a Quaker school with the IB program and is different from many of the Northeastern boarding schools in that there is a strong emphasis on service and a wider range of kids, including 44% day students. (George School has two Nobel laureates among its alumni–I don’t know of another boarding school that does.) Hotchkiss has a golf course and may have a wider range of course offerings. Both schools are within two hours of NYC. I know happy kids at both schools. You can wait and see if you get off the Groton waitlist and make a choice.

Go to Hotchkiss, the chances of you getting off Groton’s wait list is slim. I was also accepted at Hotchkiss last year (didn’t attend), but Hotchkiss’ campus is extremely large and it offers way more diversity and sports in comparison to Groton (if you were to get off the wait list, of course)

DiveAlive is right, Hotchkiss accepted you because they believed you were a perfect fit for their school. If Groton felt the same, they would have admitted you instead of wait listed. The AO’s have been at it for much longer than you have, so trust their judgement!

Okaaay… HOTCHKISS IT IS!

Thanks btw :PP
