D has visited several colleges and fell in love with HWS, and so did I. H, on the other hand, is a little bewildered by the concept of Liberal Arts and isn't so sure. I was just wondering if anyone knew what the numbers were regarding what students were doing after graduation. At the school they made it a point to dicuss internships and the alumni netowork, but I was just wondering if anyone had any personal comments about career prep and HWS' reputation in the professional world. If it makes a difference, right now she's very interested in Public Policy, Communication and Foregin Languages.

I know that HWS has a very solid success rate in graduates being accepted to law school, which my sophomore son is considering. HWS offers a pre-law program; so far, to my knowledge, he has attended a meeting and is doing what is necessary: excellent grades, debate team and a major that is in alignment with that goal. HWS claims that students are accepted into at least one of the three law schools to which they apply nearly 100% of the time.

I have included some links above but there are more on the website, so explore. The first link is the general pre-law page and the second highlights an enterprising pre-law student taking advantage of alum contacts. As you can see from the partial list of law schools in the third link, HWS is a good first step to some well-known and competitive ones. The last link profiles a very distinguished alum who is doing very valuable international law work at The Hague.

I hope this is helpful.
