I submitted the Common App to Vandy about 3 weeks ago and my school sent my transcript and recs. a few days after that. I have not heard anything from Vandy other than a generic e-mail about alumni interviews. Does Vandy send some sort of confirmation letter once your application is complete? I'm starting to get worried.

My DS wondered the same thing so he called the admissions office and they checked his file and said his application was complete. She said they only send you an email if something is missing from your application. Unlike other schools who let you check your status online, Vanderbilt does not according to the admissions office. If you do not hear anything, then that is okay. For peace of mind you might want to just call to confirm your file is complete.

The alumni interview email is only sent out to those who’ve completed their application, so yours is done.

That’s not true. I’ve only sent my supplement and I got the email. I would call.

Thanks, I’ll try calling this week.

any update of this process, son submitted a month ago, thru common app, and hasnt heard anything…is there a need to call, or are above posts correct, no email unless something missing?.

I ran into the same problem when I applied. After weeks of waiting I had not received any email, so I went ahead and emailed my admissions counselor at the school. A week after that , and a week after the ED applications where due, I finally received an email confimring that my application had all been sent it. Make sure you remeber to send your mid-year report though as well!
