I'm planning on submitting the common app to two schools early...but if defered/rejected id like to be able to add new info (new sat scores, possibly different major etc) for the rest of the colleges I will be submitting the common app to for regular decision...is this allowed?

that's a great question....I'd like to hear the answer to that one too

You choose a list of schools when submitting your application. So, a later version would go to a new list of schools.

If you are deferred, send a direct letter or e-mail to admissions with your new and improved test scores and achievements. Add a paragraph or two about how much you want to attend the school.

I'm going to apply to a school early and I'll be taking some SAT II's in November, so those new scores will not be reflected by the common application. Since I'll be using the common application for my early decision school, do I send my common application to all my listed schools when I apply to my early decision school?

midwesterner, If I'm deferred from my first choice school and I want colleges to know my new SAT scores, does that mean I will have to e-mail each of them?

What are all these types of admission like early decision, rolling action... etc.? Can someone please supply a URL that explains all the types of admissions?

krabble, no, on the common app for thee score section it notes "date taken or DATE TO BE TAKEN". if you are taking them in nov, put the nov date on TO BE TAKEN, then the colleges will make note that you will be sending them scores after that nov date.

Thanks namaste. I figure I can put that for my early decision school too (hoping it will arrive there on time)?

As always, you have the test scores sent by College Board to any school to which you've applied. If the school already has your application on file (such as when you've been deferred by your EA school) it is wise to send the school a letter updating your accomplishments.
