After you transfer, your GPA resets?

I heard that after i transfer from this CC (Grossmont) to UCSD, that my GPA from the point i enter UCSD will be 0.0 and whatever I have before hand (whether it be 4.0 or 3.1) will not even matter?

Is this true? It is important to me due to the fact I am going to try to get into med school, and I need to know if I should drop this class i might get a C in at my current Community college (I didnt go to class, I was having personal issues) as I dont want it to mess up my chances down the road and my long term GPA?

Grad school and med school will take into account all grades from your college career. Yes it is true that your GPA resets after you transfer but that doesn’t mean you get a clean slate from grad school admissions.

Say i get a 3.4 for my CC GPS and a 3.8 from UCSD, do you think that will be looked down upon or as a plus in medical applications?

A positive trend should look good.
