... Is it wise to contact the school not too long afterwards, even if the school doesn't particularly do interviews? Or is it smarter just to sit around and wait for a letter? I get the feeling that letting the school know how much you're interesed in them ups your chances. It gets tiring, sitting by a mailbox and waiting for something to show up.

Thanks.

many times it is better ot just sit there and wait and not call, cause you have to remember that you are one of thousands that have applied and are waiting for response to your application. also the college will have tons and tons of mail that they have to deal with, so if you sent somethign and call them soon after there is little chance that they have actually gotten it. some colleges will send emails (slightly faster) to tell you that they have gotten everything from your application. both otherwise it is better just to wait by your mail box and hope for the best. the one time where you probably want to call or send something ot them is if you are an EA/ED applicant that was deferred, and are still hoping for acceptance through RD. by contacting them again you can show interest.

hope that helps a little bit
