Now I know I've posted this before, but I have new info and I haven't really gotten a straightforward answer. Some people are saying I'm in at all, others say I barely have a shot. So....

Olin

no one?

You probably have better than average chances for everywhere you're applying to, but no one is in for sure at schools like MIT, Stanford, Princeton, etc.

Personally, I'm jealous (and people are probably not posting because they're just as jealous)--I don't even see why you're making this kind of thread, because even if you don't get into MIT, your all-around good grades, scores, and numerous and well-rounded ECs would be hard to deny at one of the top echelon schools. Also, the fact that your highest grades are in the maths and sciences, which also seem to be a big focus of your ECs, are a big plus, since saying you're interested in those fields gives you an edge up in modern-day America, as the nation seems to be lacking in scientists and mathmeticians. Now, go away and stop making me feel bitter.

Funny, I thought it was bad for to be stereotypically math and science oriented if you're an Asian...

Ah, I didn't know he/she(?) was Asian...

not asian, middle eastern tho

well, I didn't mean to imply that he/she was Asian, but my point stands :)

Anyone care to give me % chances at each school?

mathwiz:

UCB: 40% (out of state)

what about the others?

Mathwiz, make an appointment with college counseling. They know better than anyone here. Also, stop posting so much your second year in high school. You should be in sports and at club meetings.

Just my two cents:

I think since you are obviously interested in the maths and sciences that you should participate in more EC's that are focused on these areas. And winning a few more math/science awards wouldn't hurt either! Good luck. :)

Anyone care to give me % chances at each school?

This is really asking a lot of people that do not work in an admissions office. There are so many factors and a percent really does not do this thread justice!

That said, I am sure that you will be a very strong candidate. You have wonderful grades and scores, as well as ecs. This does not mean you will be admitted, but you will definitely be very competitive. Congratulations on your achievements. Good luck!
