Age difference for dating

The parents are debating this and I thought it would be interesting to know what you all think. We won't post over here, but would like to know your thoughts:

How much of an age difference would you find acceptable between a 16-year old girl and a potential date?

14-18.

10 char

15-18, as long as the 18-year-old were still in high school. If it were my daughter, I would not want her dating someone in college... it's just too sketchy.

i agree with zamzam.

I think a 2 year age difference going both ways is a good range if you're a teenager.

Alex

I agree with alexx. About two years, maybe three depending on the girl. I don't see a problem with dating a fresh in college, but I know people who are 17 and freshman in college. Really though, it depends on the girl.

I disagree with coloradocutie, 14-18 years difference is too much :P

Didn't we just have a thread on this..?

I dated seniors as a freshman - at 17 and a high school senior, I'd feel comfortable dating anyone in college. I'm female. I really don't think age difference matters at all, though - it's about commonality of interest and maturity, after a certain point.

Same here, except I'm a guy and I probably wouldn't recommend it to a parent, though I would recommend it to a pal :D

XKCD Standard Creepiness rule dictates:

Partner's Age = (Your Age/2) + 7

so (15,16)(16,18)(17,20) etc...

^ Daaaaymn. You beat me to it. I'd just gotten the URL for the page too. =[

17 and 20 sounds borderline creepy to me IMO.

17 = Junior/Senior in high school
20 = Sophomore/Junior in college

Two completely different levels there.
