A few years ago when i did this process with my oldest son, I was referred to a website where it seems most colleges have to submit what their statistics were for the latest class of students. There were all sorts of stats - acceptance rates by major and lots of other categories, what factors they use as par of their consideration and how they weight those factors and probably 2-3 pages more of stats. Seemed like it was a government agency or accrediting body of some sort.
Does anyone remember or know what they website is?
You’re likely referring to one of these three:
- NCES College Navigator: https://nces.ed.gov/collegenavigator/
- DOE College Scorecard: https://collegescorecard.ed.gov/
- The school's Common Data Set, which can usually be found by searching for "College Name Common Data Set" in Google.
Example: https://oir.brown.edu/institutional-data/common-data-set
However, the Admissions website itself will always have the most up to date data and is the final source on any questions regarding the admissions process.
Hope that helps! Good luck with admissions!
IPEDS ? It can require a bit of experimentation and detective work, but a lot of data is there. It’s probably the database behind the College Navigator listed above.
