I haven't scheduled my interview/started my application!!

Is it too late? The interview scheduling deadline is October 20th and I'm not taking the subject tests until November (first time) which is also the last date. (I was going to take them in October, but long story...)

Won't it look bad that I waited so late?? Then again there are deadlines for a reason, but I hate to ask my interviewer last minute!

Why not just wait for regular admission? If you apply later, you will have time to work on your application and make it the best you can. Rushing it will do more harm than good.

It won't reflect badly on you or even be noted at all that you finished things close to the deadline -- most people, especially frazzled high school seniors, finish things close to the deadline.

Being rushed in your applications is another issue, and one that's well worth thinking about. But from MIT's end, getting everything together at the last minute will not be a handicap.

why do you want to apply early if you haven't started yet?

Don't rush your application. Scheduling an interview took me a a few weeks, so I doubt you will get an interview in three days, unless you're very lucky. Also, it takes awhile for the interviewer to send in your data for the interview, if its not in by November 15th, then there is no point. It is better to get an interview in, I think the rate of admission goes up by 10%. I would suggest just applying regular decision, I think you're too late. You have late SATs too, they say "it might" get in on time.

Advice from a person I know going to MIT...taken late though, obviously.

Yeah, I think I'll apply regular.

Also, it's important to get your essays/evaluations proofread by an English teacher. So I doubt your teacher would like being rushed, and write you a bad review.

MIT requires two teacher recommendations.

Just for the record, this isn't true -- MIT accepts November test scores for EA, and they always get to MIT in time for selection.

i got in regular decision, and i didn't schedule my interview until about three weeks after the deadline. i reckon the interview hardly matters at all.
