I took the SAT literature and SAT Biology subject tests a few months back. When I left the testing room I knew I did ok on Biology but I knew I had choked on Literature, mainly because of time constraints. I recieved my scores and had scored a 700 in Biology and a 560 on Literature. I know I can do better in literature if I were to retake it but I'm wondering how it would reflect on my college application if I chose to take another subject test and decided to leave the 560. Im pretty sure that they could reason that it wasn't a good reflection of my ability because I'm in IB english and Im sure I'll get a high score(6 or 7 for those familiar with IB scoring). I also passed the AP Literature and Composition test in 10th grade and, although this might not be as closely related to literature, I got a 700 on the SAT I writing section and a 12/12 on the essay. I need to decide within the next few days whether or not to retake the literature test and if it really won't matter that much in the eyes of admissions committees. Any advice whatsoever would be greatly appreciated!

they take your highest three scores (or highest 2 scores, depending on the college's specific SAT II requirement) so it doesn't matter. and by they, i mean the people who create your profile that will be judged by the admissions committee...meaning the irrelevant testing information will not be seen when the final decision is being made.

what about colleges that do not require any SAT II scores at all, but they are simply recommended?

Boy do I wish I could cancel scores.
