I don’t know which one to choose. I’ve lived in CT forever and Atlanta Georgia would be a new place to explore. I heard where Trinity is located is a really tough place. I know Trinity is better ranked and would be a bit more expensive but my mom says she can handle it. She also doesn’t want me all the way in Georgia if something happens. I really don’t know what to do.
Have you visited Trinity College? My D took a tour this Spring Break and the school was incredibly welcoming. The tour guide was funny, intelligent and warm. She had a peer interview and again the peer student was very impressive. I have to be honest and say that the area surrounding the school was very rough looking. I am a social worker and use to seeing poverty but I was impacted. But one thing that impressed me
…was the school’s genuine efforts to do outreach to the community.
Do you want a woman’s college atmosphere- how much? I’ve heard Agnes Scott is a great school for young women that really nurtures them and the campus is lovely. So a very different experience totally.
I haven’t yet but will on Tuesday my mom already paid the deposit without visiting. I’m technically enrolled in two colleges and understand the non refundable part. We couldnt really fly in to ASC because of tickets and time. When I went to MHC admitted students day I figured it was alright. I kept hearing about Trinity’s tough neighborhood which might turn my mother off it. I know at ASC I won’t be having loans. But I also worry about prestige…
I really would not worry about the prestige. I think it’s over rated. But if you are not going to embrace ASC then it might be better to go elsewhere. An ambitious motivated student will make the most of the opportunities and that is really what counts. Good luck!
