the higher ranked the school, the uglier the people, especially for public schools. the people who study more tend to care less about their looks. there are exceptions of course, im sure there are stereotypical cheerleaders who go to harvard. wealthier people at privates have more to spend for their looks and dress better.

these are really far fetched generalizations

Not sure if you generalize to that degree - however I will say that for very attractive females (lets say top 2% on terms of looks and charm) - when they enter college they begin to realize the very hard work it will take to get into that top law or business school - or really any medical school for that matter- and since their opportunity cost of studying is higher than most people (namely dating wealthy men who will buy them what they need) - then they often slack off

Now there are many many exceptions to this and its certainly not true of all exceptionally attractive women - however there is a reality to this assertion

In essence, even for those that are very bright (as many are) - their primary commodity at some point will become their looks and charm - and they find it hart not to maximize that, and they have maybe 5 to 10 years to cash-in and that doesn't usually include spending 60 hours a week studying outside of class

Are you calling Alexandre ugly? I bet you haven't even met him, so I'd save judgment on that... LOL.

Yeah, I am good looking. Honestly The_Prestige! LOL!!!

Well, all I have to say is that students at UNC and UCLA are generally attractive. I also hear Vanderbilt has a good looking student population. So much for the theory that the general attractiveness of the student body is inversely related to the quality of the institution.

BROWN women tend to be rather good looking too -which is not surprising since it has a fair amount of wealthy students, and over the long haul - money tends to marry beauty (all things equal)

Also, forget about the word "attractive" - its a "chick-speak" term that can mean nearly anything

Absolutely agree with Citation. Students at elite universities, be it the Ivies or Northwestern or Duke or Uva or Michigan etc... tend to have a lot of children from afluent backgrounds. We don't need to go into the details, but I am pretty sure we all know what that means!

Middlebury is considered pretty good and it's known as "the home of the beautiful people".

totally agree about affluent schools/students- people that take time/energy (aka $$$$$$) to look a certain way.
