ECs: bunch of clubs, leadership and community service

Here’s some data to help evaluate your chances:

Preliminary numbers show that for Freshmen entering Fall 2012, Cal Poly accepted 44.3% of College of Agriculture, Food & Environmental Sciences applicants (1,599 accepted/3,609 applied), who had an average GPA of 3.72, ACT of 26, and SAT of 1179 (math and reading only).

Some majors are harder to get into than others. I don’t know where agricultural engineering stands; maybe someone knowledgeable can address that.

My son is a senior in ag engineering. I would suggest googling BRAE Cal Poly for their website. You might want to call over and speak to Kathy Daniels about your interest in the department. Ask to speak to one of the professors about your intended major.

It’s a small department at Cal Poly, but one of the friendliest on campus. The professors there are very approachable.
