Agriculture

I heard that its really easy to get into agriculture… some really dumb girl at my school applied and got accepted for Soil Science and she thinks shes just gonna go and switch majors.

is it really that easy to get into the agriculture dept? are there stats posted for avg gpa/sat?

thanks

Check here for last year's stats:

<a href="http://www.ess.calpoly.edu/_admiss/undergrad/pdf/profile04a.pdf%5B/url%5D">http://www.ess.calpoly.edu/_admiss/undergrad/pdf/profile04a.pdf</a></p>

Acceptance rate is ~56%, so not that tough, and I guess the GPA and test scores support that theory.

Just be aware that it's quite difficult to change majors at CPSLO (though it's much easier if the major you want to switch to is in the same department, e.g. Computer Science -> Computer Engineering, though it's not always a guarantee).

Cal Poly monitors every course you take and if you don't enroll in you major required courses, they'll dq you and toss you out. It's almost impossible to transfer out of AG .

can you decide to double major in AG and something in another dept?

probably in the same college like Ag Bus & Wine Studies
