I have a 89% final grade for spanish and I really need that A
im not a straight A student so I need as many As I can get....
What is the best way to convince your teacher to change it to a A

live with it, ive had much worse and so far i've gotten into every college i tried to get into.

I think you'll live.

is 90% an A at your school? cause it's a 93 in ours, which is just a pain since yoipoehjysodijf;hdf

Just explain your concern to your teacher. He/she may realize what a hard worker you were in the class and add in a made-up 5 pt. extra credit assignment or something.

My lit teacher changed my friend's grade from 87% to 90% after he talked to him. He just explained how if he didn't get that A, he would've had his acceptance withdrawn from the local state U (which was true. Borderline acceptance.)

Just be honest with your teacher about your grade and I'm sure he/she will help you out.

Then again, it has never worked for me. I tried to convince my algebra teacher to raise my grade from 89 to 90, but it turns out my grade was actually rounded up to 89 from 88.something. lol

now it depends on how good a student you were in his/her class. if you were a really good student, studious, attentive, etc, then the teacher will prolly be sympathetic and raise your grade. you could also consider brining in some assignments where you lost a couple poitns for stupid mistakes, and try that.

if you were a not-so-good student (arrogant, bored-looking, etc) then you're prolly stuck with your B

I agree with the above posts. If you are a hard-working student and you are on good terms with your teacher, talk to him/her and you'll be fine.

can you get any extra credit stuff??

... tell her ur situation, and hope for the best...

i am somewhat bitter though, our grading scale sounds MUCh tougher than that 90-100 = A crap

for me

98-100 = A+
97-94 = 100+
93-90 = B+
89-86 = B
85-81 = C+
Anything lower than that is unacceptable for me :P

If i had that 90-100 A thing, i'd have all A's, no problem, even on the freakin AP's... grrr

I was 1% away from an A in AP Physics, and 0.7% away from an A in BC Calc. But that was this year, Senior year, so it's alright.

Same with our grading scale. Dumb one
I would have all As but since I got a 94 in english, thats an A-

ask for 1 point sextra credit

Haha, my school's grading system is the best: there are pluses or minuses for quarter grades, and 90-100 is an A (each 10 points is a grade lower). For final grades, there's a book of different permutations of quarter grades, and pluses and minuses are added accordingly... no rank either. Good thing, too.

God dammit I have a 93.48% in my English class. 93.50% or more = A. I missed an A by ONE FRIGGEN POINT OUT OF 813! (760/813) I demand a recount!

Teacher said she doesn't accept any negotiations over grades too. SO I'm done with. Not to mention that I lost 3 points for simply turning in an assignment late - I could have easily gained those. Or 15 points for forgetting one thing when writing an essay - my arguments were concrete, rather than abstract - and that mistake alone cost me 15.

Oh I think you'll live. I remember one time several of my friends and I were in a tough class. They ended up getting 89.98 and 89.68 (Yes, they even calculated it to the hundredths place) and the teacher would not round. No matter what. They tried begging points, offering to clean tables, washing equipment, whatever. And to no avail.

redmond Washington rocks!

Nothing makes me crazier than a B+. Actually, I got a C+ in honors American lit last semester. If I had spent maybe 15 more minutes on like one of my essays, it probably would have put me into B range, which I could have lived with. But no. C+. Rarrgh.

Also, some of these people's grading scales are insane.

I would like to get 84% and B rather than 89% and B+

well you're wierd...the better grade is obviously better.

No, see you feel better with a 84
Cause with a 89, your so close to that A.
