Ah I'm so glad I applied to 1 safety and then all reaches !

Now that I'm in a decent safety, and there's really not much difference between a safety and a match when they're all top 50 schools, applying to all reaches definitely makes the April 1 deadline much much better!

If I had applied to a bunch of matches, I'd be thinking right now, "Even if I get in, it's because I earned it"... boring... and then I'd probably end up going to my cheaper safety anyways.

But because I have nothing but reaches, getting my decisions back will be like playing the lottery with (relatively) nothing to lose, "How lucky will I get?"

That is truly exciting.

I did the same, except I haven't heard from my safety school yet. What reaches did you apply to?

Yeah, I applied to so many reaches... April fool's day, please be kind to me.

I did almost the exact same thing. Definitely exciting, haha.

Same for me. xD But I haven't heard back from anywhere.

I did the same thing a couple years ago.

Turned out to be a very smart decision.

Oh? Why's that?

Wouldn't a match be better than a safety if you did not get into a single reach school.

yeh. But you rather go to that target and reach school. :p

Not necessarily, all it comes down to fit.

I forgot to send out the application to my safety. Thank god it all worked out in the end...

I'm really REALLY happy with what I did in terms of college apps. I applied EA to UChicago and got in, which really took the pressure off for the other apps. Even though U of C isn't my first choice, I know I'd love it there... so I honestly don't much care where I get in RD. =]

As fate had it, I ended up at my match/safety and not any of my reaches.

I did the same :]

But Instead of a Safety, I applied to 2 Matches/Safety? (BU, and Oxford College of Emory)

It is very exciting.

Reviewing posts right now. For future applicants, mine was a poor choice. Rejected at all of my reaches. Wasted freaking money down the drain and into the pockets of the elite! Whoop!

^just keep in mind that if you apply to reaches, you probably won't get into them (hence why they are a reach)....
