Ah! Significant Mistake on Application!

Sooo on my Columbia app..I was printing out a copy of it for an interview and I just realized (I am such an idiot!) that for my brother's occupation, I accidentally wrote on the next line which was actually the spot to place the name of sibling #2.. I know it's past the deadline, but should I email the admissions office to let them know? I do not have a sibling named "paramedical examiner" haha

hahah…I’m not sure. Maybe they’ll realize the error. It doesn’t seem like a “significant mistake” at all. They don’t care much about your brother :stuck_out_tongue: this is an application about YOU!

but in all seriousness, I would leave it alone. They’ll figure out what you meant pretty easily, and it seems like a hassle/waste of their time to go call in.

LOL. THEY SERIOUSLY DONT CARE about your brother that much

But they do care about following instructions.

Now, in the event that you get rejected, you will really never know if it was because you weren’t one of the best applicants, or if was because that nagging little mistake continuously distracted the OCD Columbian admissions officer during his/her entire reading of your application file.

Just email them about it. It can’t hurt.

This is why I don’t look at my applications after they’ve been submitted. LOL

^haha agreed!

Do not worry about this!
Significant mistakes are issues like using two different first names, forgetting to pay the application fee, or sending the application for one school to another school.

Not a big deal at all
Last year on CC, some kid wrote “faceless bureaucrat” for their Dad’s occupation and they got into an Ivy

Hey don’t worry about it. My brother’s name is “Unemployed” LOL
