Ah, what do I do? Chances for mediocre student?

Behold, one of the worst students on this dicussion board.

White female from Queens, New York,

Weighted GPA: 85 (3.3)
Unweighted GPA: 82 (3.1)

Unfortunately, my grades have plummeted from 90's down to 70's and 80's, making my quality as a student even worse. :-(

SAT Scores:
Critical Reading: 570
Math: 470
Writing: 550

I haven't been involved in any school activities. I have worked in a restaurant and currently work at a movie theater; also 2 years of Ba gua kung-fu training, as well as fencing... and thats it... sadly. :-(

Essay is excellent, as coming from my English teacher. I always write good essays.

Recs: 2 good so far, from history and english.

In soph. and junior years, I took 5 honors classes, and 1 advanced placement.

The colleges I'm applying (shortened):

*SUNY Stony Brook
*SUNY Albany
*SUNY Oswego
*SUNY Purchase
CUNY Baruch
CUNY Hunter
CUNY City College
Nassau Community College

Please help and be honest. Thanks in advance.

I don´t know what your chances are because I don´t know much about the schools...But please don´t call yourself a medicore student. You have a good academic profile.

Maybe you are comparing yourself to nerds who play 546 instruments and sports, take all APs and Honors....and basically don´t have a life.

So yeah, you are not mediocre..

the CUNY's really shouldn't be much of a problem.

obviously NCC is definite.

the suny's might be a bit tougher, but i have friends with around the same stats that got in to those suny's.

good luck!

ps - if you're from queens, why go to NCC?... that's a crappy commute.

yea i was shocked when i came to this site and saw peoples profiles, Its scary at first but i asked my graduation coach what he thought and he said i have a good profile. Just do YOUR best. Quality over quantity. Admissions will see many with god knows how many EC'S but if they see you genuinly care about the things you do and are not just doing things to "look good", it will look better. Good Luck

Thanks for all your kind words. Anyone else here that can tell me what chances I have for the SUNYs?
