Ah yes. Another AP score question.

Ok. So I just received my AP score report and I earned a 3 on my AP Literature and Comp. exam. I'm currently going to a ccc. My question:should I utilize my 3 when I want to transfer to either UCLA or Cal as an English major? I know that UCs require a 4 or 5 in order to earn credit, so is my 3 worth anything really?

You can use the 3 on AP Lit to fulfill one of the IGETC English requirements, but I highly recommend you don't if you plan to apply as an English major; it will look a lot better to ace a CC English class than to use an AP score of 3 for credit.

That's what I was thinking. Thanks for your reply!

It should be used at each campus for what they can give you. Your comunity college will satisfy what requirements they can for you. The UC campus should ignore what the CC gave your and issue the proper credit/units for the AP exam at their campus.
