i got admitted as a fall 2010 transfer for communications. there's a number of reasons why i chose comm:

1) as a pregrad/premed, i thought a "different" major than your typical bio/chem/math would make me "interesting"(wrong....)

2) i thought that i could manage a double major in bio as well, and that the bio+comm combo would be (see point#1) since comm is a relatively easy major.

3) I figured that i had a better chance of getting into comm (since they also offer GTs) as opposed to something like bioengineering(not that i was considering it).

after i got my credit evaluations(i was expecting about 30-40 to transfer, but instead 60 transferred), i realized that there was no way i could feasibly take the 13 required comm classes plus 6 premed classes plus 3 neurobio/math classes plus 2 gen ed classes and expect to get even a 3.3 or so every semester for two years( no fin. aid so i would really like to graduate by 2012 if possible). that's why i was wondering if i could jump ship on comm after this academic year, and instead declare a comm minor and a more hard sciences major (like bio+society for instance). i don't think i can handle two very different majors, especially since i want to do a hard science master's after graduation.

so how much flak is cornell going to give me for this? i was unsure if i wanted to do sci postgrad, but working in research labs this semester has definitely changed my focus and i don't know how much i will like comm, since i have never taken a media studies-ish class before.
