AHH help! i'm so paranoid about SAT II for Penn ED

Omg, I’m really nervous, because I just took the french with listening! and I failed (did SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO poorly) i know it. I mean at this point if I got in the 500s I would actually be happy. Will this completely kill my ED chances. I mean I speak Russian fluently but OBVIOUSLY there is no russian SAT (stupid Collegeboard) and I have a 2140 (800 M, 630 CR, 710 W) and 750 and 730 on both Math SAT II’s.

AHH ! i’m so scared I don’t want this stupid French thing to ruin my chances!!!
Should I cancel my French score???

um. Well as long as you're not going to send the score to Penn, right? Those two math scores are perfect. The admission officer who visited my school along with harvard, georgetown, and duke, said Penn requires at least TWO SATIIs in the high 600s. You're going to be fine.

im pretty sure both math scores will count for one sat II (since its one subject). so even if you took both levels of sat 2 math, they'll take your highest score only.

ya i agree with enders_game, you need another SAT II in another subject they will only count one of the math ones

Is 700+ Math IIC good enough for Wharton if I received an A in Calc BC and an 800 on the SAT I Math? I'm desperate.. I think I screwed up big-time in terms of the time limit. Help!

lol chaotic, make your own thread. don't hijack other ones.

but 2c scores around 700 are only subpar for places like wharton. sorry, but it may affect your chances. they will see both your Ic and IIc scores.

like i know that the CAS accepts any two but RECOMMENDS a language test, so will it kill me if i don't send it at all

MathIC will not be considered because you sent in the IIC. You need the second SATII. You chose French. You do not need a language SATII (I already made a thread and people said that it was not necessary) but they recomend it for placement. You need to have taken the French SATII or you have 0 chance of getting in because you do not fill their requirements. Take a 500 on French and prepare for a science or history, or the lit SATII for December. If you get deffered from ED, a 650+ on one of those tests may help, and a 650+ will also help in the colleges you apply to RD.

Chaotic, geting an 800 on the IIC is very easy for top math students in my expereince. I think 92% get 780-800 on the test. For Wharton you need to be better than more than 92% of MathIIC test takers. For the people who say a 700+ is good enough for Wharton, it is true, but not for the people who are reaching very high (as in most applicnats who are not athletes and/or big legacies).

Could one mediocre SAT II score ruin your chances for Wharton ED if you are excellent in all other respects?

it really is frustrating. it's just that there's so many people who are just so freaking good at everything and they're applying to Wharton just like you. so nobody knows if one score will "ruin" your chances

Shoot, I meant the top 92nd percentile (as in 8% of test takers) get high 700s.

so yea, i just talked to my regional admission person and she said that penn takes your TWO HIGHEST SAT II's no matter which subject, but she told me to send in the french anyway just so they know i'm testing in other subjects besides math.

anyone else hear anything?

I thought Penn doesn't require SAT 2 if you send ACT? Is that correct?

yea thats true but if you wanna get on their good side its better to go the SAT way
