AHH Math!!

Hmm. After taking the test on Saturday, I realized I made a lot of mistakes on math...(as in 7-10 wrong!!). It is not that I all that terrible at math (or am I?), but I just can't think straight during the test! For all you people who think you did pretty good, can you tell me some strategies that improve math - as in what did you do in preparation to do well on the SAT math sections.

Plus, I also drank Red Bull before the test..could that have hurt me instead of helping me?

Please teach me of your ways, o wise SAT math gurus!

i just wanted to say that i am not one of those 800 math people. although i am good in math (AP CALC BC; good grades, etc), I don't do well on standardized tests. BTW, what would 7-10 wrong translate scorewise?

7-10 wrong is probably like a 600-640. i got 800 my first time and im hoping to get 800 again for january. all i did was get random SAT books and do section after section of math. then after a while just sit yourself down in a room and tak e a whole test and see how you do. if you can't think straight during the test you'll just have to take more practice ones to calm yourself for the real one. SAT math is pretty different from a math class becase you don't always want to follow standard procedure, try some more unconventional ways like guess and check, it'll make things a little faster and easier

srry, bump.. anyone else

i just like math. I've been to National Olympiads such as the USAMO and i didn't study for the SAT Math at all. The questions are really easy if you practice for the olympiads. The hardest one on the SAT is probably easier than the easiest on a normal AMC 12.

yeah SAT math is really simple, it's all about not making stupid errors. everyone should know how to do the problems
