Does work experience in high school help getting admission into Wharton???

Didn’t help me

not at all. i have no experience and i got in

It probably helps but not much…

yeah but don’t you need to have some demonstrated interest in that area and how could you possibly demonstrate that if you’ve never had experience in it…

alright this thread p1sses me off because my counselor forced me to apply to cas instead of wharton because I didn’t have any work experience and she guaranteed me I’d be rejected

^^that’s when you don’t listen to your counselor and do what YOU want.

I’ve never, ever expressed any interest in business except that I knew it was probably the easiest way to use my Japanese without becoming an English teacher in Japan (ew, not a fun job). And then I found Huntsman and thought it was cool. I didn’t take econ, haven’t interned at any businesses (did work at Nordstrom/have an illegit 2week internship on the Hill, but I don’t think those count)…and just generally, never expressed any interest in business.

And somehow I got into Wharton. Actually, I probably should have applied to CAS but uh…whatever. Wharton’ll be fun =D

i am honestly convinced that it is pure luck that gets you into wharton. i got deffered from SEAS and somehow in RD got into Jerome Fisher program. I have nothing. A 2040 SAT and a 3.8 GPA. Also I had to talk about my suspension from cheating on my application, and somehow I got in. I see people here ten times as qualifeied as I and somehow I got in. It must just be how much they like your essays. Or how their day is going?? haha

definitely essays. my essays were bomb i spent so much time on them
