So the school that I will be attending next year (Loomis) has a no jeans dress code. jeans are practically my personal uniform!!! Im not a dress/skirt kinda girl so I don't know what to do. I have a couple outfits of corduroys with a blouse, but i still need more!. any suggestions?

see if the rule applies to any denim, or if it’s just blue jeans that are off limits. If that’s the case, you could get colored/black jeans.

Definitely check on colored jeans - at my school they’re against dress code, but everyone wears them, and I’ve never heard of someone getting in trouble for it. Corduroys and khakis are your next best bet. You’ll get used to it soon enough - I was an exclusively jeans, tshirts, and sweatshirts girl before I went to boarding school, and by the end of the first year I was used to dressing up.

Loomis has a dress code? I didn’t know about that…

Since Andover has a ‘casual’ dress code (yes, jeans are okay)…what is the ‘norm’ attire?

I agree, go for colored jeans. I would also recommend getting used to skirts and dresses though because I hate to break it to you but you’re going to have to go to some pretty fancy things that will require that you wear a dress or skirt.

Set a new trend. Go naked!

Although there’s no real dress code, I’m pretty sure Andover would draw the line at nudity.

Honestly, people wear whatever they want. The prevailing styles are usually preppy ones, but people go to class wearing everything pyjamas to suits. Once, a friend of mine wore a dinosaur costume to class for fun. There really isn’t much restriction.

Andover sounds super fun. I really hope I get in, but the first step is still convincing the parents.
