Ok so ill be applying to places that require recommendations (ie:Cornell), but all the teachers that i have actually liked (that would give a decent recommendation) have left! And of the ones still here, i left little to no impression on them :( please, anyone help with this situation?

Would you be able to contact those teachers to see whether they could write you recommendations?

no, i never was able to get their numbers. does cornell require them for all their colleges?

Write up a short resume or description of your academic and extracurricular activities. Find a time to talk to the remaining teachers- ones who may not know you, but have no reason to dislike you. This may need to be after school. Ask for a few minutes of their time. Mention that you realize that they do not know you that well, but that the teachers who knew you best have all left. Ask whether they would be willing to write a recommendation. Give them the resume, the recommendation forms, and addressed stamped envelopes, if they agree. Remember to thank them- both now and again later this fall. Most colleges say that the bulk of recommendations do not matter- they are just average, run of the mill. A tiny percentage are negative and hurt the candidate. A somewhat larger percentage are extra special and help the candidate. So all you really need are some run of the mill, generic letters, to be honest.

Although a teacher has moved on, he or she may have left a forwarding address with the department. It's a long shot, but you could ask the department head if he has the teacher's e-mail address, and if he would be willing to forward a e-mail from you, requesting a letter of reference.

Try your best to contact the teachers that really know you (ask the school if they have a forwarding address or potentially other teachers that were close to the ones that left etc). If however you simply can't locate them you're just going to have to approach the other ones.

I agree with what OneMom said most recs aren't anything special still if you have the opportunity to get amazing recs don't lose it (my recs really helped me).

good ideas you guys, thanks a lot :)
