Ahh, which cell phones work at Princeton?

I was at the princeton hosting thing for admitted students and found out that my sprint phone did not work inside any buildings on Princeton campus. Which cellphone companies do work there? I might need to get a new phone.

Aside: Is sprint clarity really bad compared to other companies? It always sounds kinda choppy.

Here's a link for you.

When I was at April Hosting, my roommate's T-mobile got little to no reception (she had to go outside to talk all the time). I had Verizon and it worked perfectly inside the dorms and other buildings. :)

i had verizon and it was super good

verizon worked for me at pton. Surprisingly, I had no reception in New Haven with my verizon

S has Cingular and that does not work. Never inside a dorm. We use landlines to talk.

Verizon used to be terrible, but they put up a new tower so now it's tolerable, although occasionally bad depending where the student is on campus. http://www.dailyprincetonian.com/archives/2006/03/17/news/14908.shtml

cingular and verizon are the 2 biggies in princeton.

I have Verizon and it works fine.

I have Verizon, and it worked pretty well during April Hosting.

Yeah I live in the Princeton area and both Verizon and Cingular work well

Does Verizon or Cingular work better b/c both sell razrs and I can get either? It sounds like Verizon works best b/c they just installed a new tower very close to campus.

Cingular wasn't that great--I didn't get any reception at all inside dorms.

Yeah if I had the choice I'd go with Verizon, most of my friends have Verizon and they love the reception they get. I have Cingular, and it sometimes tends to work poorly indoors, but outside you're usually fine.

Verizon gets you reception in the clubs and in nearly all buildings. Cingular works outside but can fade when inside.

I live near Princeton and Verizon has never failed me when I'm on campus.

After spending a year at Pton, I can say without a doubt that VERIZON is the only service you want to have.

They have a tower on campus, and no other company can say that (although I hear that Nextel has one coming...)

verizon is the way to go, cingular has little reception on upper campus and none around the butler dorms.

As a lifelong princeton resident, I recommend verizon.
