AHHH Essay B word limit

I just finished my essay B...it really captures my world and my aspirations, but it's 750 words. Eek! I just got carried away I guess, but I tohught MIT was lenient with word limits. Is 750 words acceptable...how long were yours especially if you were admitted EA. If not, should I just focus on ONE aspect of my world and ONE dream??!

They're lenient to an extent. A guideline to stick by is to make sure that the reader does not notice that the essay went over the word limit. 250 words over... to an experienced reader, it'd probably be obvious.

Focus on whatever is most important to you. Utilize your 1337 hax0r skillz.

My essay was 737 words (lol), but I had something to say and I felt cutting it shorter would not have gotten my point across. That being said, I got accepted EA.

Just use your best judgement. :-)
