Thanks for your comments!

My stats were wayyyyyyyyy worse so dont worry about it.

slight reach. With a better SAT score, you'll have excellent (more excellent than before :p) chances.

dont worry

start worrying.

^ are you serious ?

thanks for the replies...i'm hoping my ec's and sat and act can make up for the gpa. anyone else wanna chance me please?

Slight reach.

....you make me feel bad.

i got in with a 2030 SAT, 32 ACT, a 3.4~ GPA, and only a year of middling EC club activities. and like 200 community service hours. and 3 + 4 AP classes my junior and senior year, respectively. and i applied as gen bio when everyone else also did.

that pretty much sums it up. my essay was good though, if i say so myself.

edit: what i forgot to say was: >_> i dont know why youre even worrying. id be worried bout getting accepted into like UCLA or Berkeley with those scores not UCSD.

^ That's something I've noticed talking to a bunch of people and reading on here:

I got in Winter with a 2130 SAT, 4.0 GPA, 200 hours, a bit of EC meddling as well, and 4 + 5 AP classes my senior year.

I'm still baffled as to why I was offered Winter admission. Previously I thought it was because my stats were borderline but recently I've become less sure of that.. I hope I get on the winter housing waitlist on November 3rd, because IMO I deserve it :(

BTW I'm at Warren Orientation right now. WARREN ROCKS!

^ oh wow, how did that happen? Your stats are pretty above average. I'm a winter admit too (haven't really started looking for housing >.>) and had a 3.72 UC GPA / 2290 SAT I.

thanks for all the replies :)
would it help my chances if i were to apply undecided rather than declare a physiology major?

oooh a physio major eh? (So am I)

Well, they're impacting bio for freshmen admits pretty soon, so you should consider that when applying.

tisthemorning, are you at SD right now?

match if u bring that gpa up.

SAT scores are decent -slightly above average.

Your major will not impact your chances of admission.

Man I don't mean to be rude or anything, but I simply do not understand. All that work, all that effort, all that stress, why not just go to junior college first and transfer in? Transfering in has a minimum requirement of 3.0 GPA, with that you can get a transfer guarantee! You also save TONS of money!

I don't get it!

most community colleges have a bad rep as that youll somehow fail a bit if you go there. truth is you save like 15k+ and get the same 2 years of GEs and then the acceptance rate at 3rd year transfer is like 2x higher than freshman admissions TT >> <_< .

but you do lose out on the college life thing if you stay at home.

AND you also have less of a time to build relationships in your school. w/ profs or friends.

RE: staneda

Nah, I had my orientation near mid/late august. Revelle here.

It seems that the whole negative impression of community colleges is based on the bad rep, not the fact that you'll be losing out on college life and college relationships.

I mean I just don't think theres any reason to stress out about getting into universities, teens have enough to worry about these days. Then again, teens seek purpose, perhaps they like stressing out about school deep down inside. >_>
