so when the room assignments came out the first time i got an email saying i had a room but they were unable to assign me a room yet because i was in one of the hold groups. so i looked and i was in hold group 3. this group was for people who applied for housing between Nov. 1 and Feb 15. well i applied on Nov. 1. so i was like dang. one day earlier and i would have gotten my housing already. but it said that the next round of assignments was around June 21 and that the people at the beginning of the hold group (people like me) would get their assignments at this time.

So today i get an email and i was really exited.... but then i opened it and once again... i have a room but they weren't able to assign me one yet. they said they were able to assign 273 additional people to rooms though, just not me. so i looked at the new hold groups and hold group three now said people who applied just before feb. 15, and the earliest in this group would get their housing assignments soon. so im really upset because my housing date was Nov. 1st so why wasn't i given a room with this latest batch of assignments. my date isn't "just" before feb 15th. Gahhh!!!!

i dont expect any one to be able to help me or anything im just upset and needed to vent. i dont no whether this means im gonna end up getting stuck in some crappy dorm, in which case i might consider off campus. but if thats the case i need to start looking soon before good off campus housing fills up.

Hey man, I know how you feel... I didn't receive my housing assignment the first time around, and I was really looking forward to getting it this time, but I also got shafted till a later date... which is beyond retarded -_- What if people in the holding groups get paired up with other people that had a similar application date? We could maybe end up being roommates as I also applied early nov.. LOL

good luck with broward.. its a good social dorm but not exactly the nicest thing on/off campus.

dont worry about not being able to find off campus housing.. you arent gonna get to live with people you know in an apt, but you will be able to find one...

still i would DEFINITELY reccommend staying on campus your first year, regardless of your assignment. you have to wake up like.. 2 minutes before class and just walk there. its glorious. not something i thought i would really miss when i moved off campus, but having to get up an hour earlier so you can catch the bus is not fun.

haha yeah. thats why i bought myself a parking decal this year.. at least it will be like 20 minutes early instead of an hour. (i have an early class, so im sure there will be parking in that enormous garage. l0l)
