Ahhh. Inform a worried junior!

Well to put things bluntly, I seriously slacked off freshman and sophomore years. A very middle-tier schedule (handful of honors, but not all), but really kicked myself into shape junior year (3 APs, 2 honors).

However, my freshman and sophomore years, even with my questionable workload, amount to a 3.5 GPA. I hate to be overly speculative but my junior year GPA will definitely be a solid 3.9+. By the time college apps rolls around, however, my cumulative GPA will still be around a 3.6.

However, what I'm hoping for is that my SAT score will in some way compensate for my GPA. I scored a 2120 my first time taking them, and can see my score improving with more studying.

If anybody could shed any light on how much my SAT scores will curb my "meh" GPA, that'd be great.

I'm interested in schools like NYU, Univ. Of Maryland - College Park, Lehigh, so I'm hoping to be competitive at schools of this selectivity.

bump
sorry if this seems like a chance me thread

Try posting on the forums of the colleges you're interested in. Students attending and parents who read the forums might have an idea about how admissions committees at those particular places weigh the national test scores versus the GPA and other factors. You know how to get to those forums, don't you?
